Viral esophagitis

Suspected viral esophagitis.Finding in a patient presenting with odynophagia and hematemesis. Multiple aphthoid ulcerations of the esophageal mucosa. Except the lesions of the esophageal mucosa EGD finding was completely normal. Histological and serological findings (HSV, CMV, HIV) and patient´s medication history were not helpful in elucidating the cause of esophagitis.
