Barret´s esophagus

Barrett´s esophagus: pathological change (metaplasia) of the esophageal mucosa, which is thought to be a complication of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in a small percentage of people with GERD. It is considered to be a precancerous condition because of its association with increased risk of cancer of the esophagus (adenocarcinoma).
