Technique of polypectomy of large sessile polyps in pieces (piecemeal polypectomy).

Piecemeal polypectomy of the large semipedunculated adenoma of the sigmoid colon.

Polyp was resected in pieces with snare (piecemeal polypectomy technique).

Piecemeal polypectomy of the sessile adenoma of the transverse colon.

The polyp was resected with snare in two large pieces. Residual adenomatous tissue at the margin of the resection could be resected with snare. India ink was injected to the adjecent submucosa to mark the polypectomy site

Mild bleeding that occurs during the piecemeal polypectomy, may be controlled by continuation of resection. Cautery of the next portion of the polyp can stop the bleeding from the vessel of a previous cut edge.
