Flat adenoma

Wednesday 15 April 2009, Branislav Kunčak, M. D.

Nonpolypoid (flat) adenoma in the transverse colon. A slightly elevated lesion (type 0-IIa acc. to Paris classification) 10mm in size.

Histology showed tubular adenoma with low grade dysplasia.

The lesion was stained with 0.5% indigocarmine solution with a spraying catheter.

  • Chromoscopy with indigocarmine aids in the classification of the morphology of the lesion (it accentuates irregularities in the mucosal surface).
