Colonic Crohn´s disease: endoscopic findings.

Endoscopic findings on colonoscopy in CD:

  • Discontinuous inflamation with spared areas and aphtoid or linear ulcers are often seen as a first manifestation.
  • Later stages of the disease are characterized by serpiginous ulcers interspersed with nodular thickened mucosa (cobblestone appearance of the mucosal surface).
